The reason we are able to do all this while protecting your data is because we trade raw write performance in exchange for flexibility through the use of dedicated parity devices. using the usb on my router for a media nas now and i need more room and faster access for my files and computer.Hey guys I am putting together a computer that is functionally similar to the one Linus did in his Gaming NAS video, with a UnRAID base and a copy of Windows 10 running as a VM. my kb and M are connected to both desktop and dock thru a kvm. :for background info, i have three monitors, 2 of which are connected to a hp pavilion 13 thru a usbc dock, the third monitor is connected to switch, ps3, and gaming desktop.

i assume there is someone on these forums that has or is running this setup, i need to know if it will work for an everyday driver. I dont want to spend the money on more parts just to try this.

i am really liking the trial unraid so far. truenas core worked but had many issues with smb and nfs but unraid has done that flawlessly. this is the easiest and most reliable way. i also want to connect it to a monitor and my kvm to play games native. ubuntu is the os i am running on my laptop which is what will vnc or steam remote play into the windows vm. The windows vm would be faster on bare metal than in ubuntu.
